Cologne, Germany
Thanks
Dear Participants of the
International Shock Congress,
The 6th Congress of the International Federation of Shock Societies is already history. It was an honor to be your host in the name of the European Shock Society. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all speakers and chairpersons contributing to this outstanding congress. Special thanks go to the numerous number of young investigators presenting us their cutting edge research. Congratulations to all winners of the young investigator and travel awards!
I would like to let you know, that we had more than 700 participants from 40 countries all over the world. That shows that shock is of high significance worldwide. Congresses like that help us to build new collaborations and interdisciplinary networks so that we have a chance to overcome this deadly syndrome. Our "Cologne Declaration on Shock" was welcomed by the different media (press, radio and TV), the politicians and grant agencies.
Last but not least, we do hope that you had a wonderful time here in Cologne. Maybe you will remember our opening ceremony organized by our students, followed by the final of the European Championship, the outstanding organ recital in the cathedral only for us, the Fun Run over the bridges and the city and Rhine tours for some of you or the closing ceremony in the Wolkenburg.
Thank you very much for staying with us and keep Cologne in your best memory!
Sincerely yours,
Edmund Neugebauer and Team
